Dear Ms. Fehr:

I am writing to express my thanks and appreciation for the recently completed reconstruction on Third Street that was part of the Atlantic County Highway Improvement Program. As you can see from my address, I was able to see, first-hand, the daily work involved in this project. My house is only about 15 feet from the street. It was built about 85 years ago, when Third Street was known as Wiltsey Mill Road. It was only a tiny rural roadway at that time. My husband and I bought this house in 1988 and Third Street had now become a major access road to the center of Hammonton from the White Horse Pike. Traffic has been steadily increasing and the street surface had become very damaged. I was happy about the news of the road project, but also concerned; worried about the travel inconvenience & large groups of workmen; their machines and noise so close to my home.

I am happy to inform you that I have the greatest admiration for everyone involved in this massive work project. The workers were immensely efficient. They quietly and expertly went about their individual jobs. The necessary street detours were kept to a minimum & always clearly marked. I saw amazing coordination between the different phases of the work: Barrett Asphalt & Arawak Paving, and Keller Engineers of New Jersey. They, and everyone involved, deserve high praise.

I extend my thanks and admiration to all those who worked so hard to make the Third Street project a beautiful success.

Sincerely,
Kay Wessman-Oberempt
