Biography

Mr. Huntsinger has over 45 years of professional experience on new/rehabilitation highway, bridge and building projects.  He is a graduate of Drexel University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and employed by the New Jersey Department of Transportation for 35+ years before joining the private sector.  A summary of his construction inspection includes:

Roadways – Roadway excavation/disposal of regulated material; variable-depth milling; hot-mix asphalt (HMA) placement; repairs of concrete and HMA pavement; ADA compliancy of handicap curbs, ramps and sidewalk; installation of new drainage; reconstruct manholes, storm pipe and inlets; geotextile roadway stabilization; underground utilities and electrical conduits; new/temporary signals; roadside protection; conformance of MPT and worker safety; new signing/striping/pavement markings; and environmental items.

Structures – Demolition, column-supported embankment systems (CSES); temporary/permanent sheeting for retaining walls and systems; mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) walls; new/replacement of bridges; pile/drilled shaft foundations; placement of reinforcement steel; concrete placement in footings, substructure and superstructure elements; and sign structure construction.

Administrative – Maintaining daily logs and supplemental inspection records on NJDOT DC-144s; detailing field progress, field conditions and contractor manpower/equipment used; office engineering duties including logging inspection reports into either CAPEX or Site Manager systems; created monthly pay estimates for contractor; and tracked shop drawing reviews, RFI’s and contract changes.

Mr. Huntsinger maintains the following active construction certifications:  NJSAT, ACI Grade I, and TCC from Rutgers University.
